 Lift the lockdown and have another wave of the virus spread across the world? Why would you want to do that? We can still develop medicine to treat the virus if immunity doesn't work. Just letting people walk around spreading it and hoping that they won't die isn't a wise idea. I said IF immunity doesn't work we might as well open up. We can't stay in lockdown forever. If there is no even seasonal partial immunity then the vaccine will not work and long term lockdown is pointless in that case true, and they will, but they are just trying to buy some time. One of the things they can come to know is the real mortality rate, which now seems to be closer to 1% rather than the 5+% that was the original indications agreed I didn't ever say to.come out of lockdown and let it spread. We will. beat it but lockdown cannot be a long term solution it will cause many more deaths than COVID has. you don't have to be a doctor to know that it is possible that they can't come up with a solution quick enough to a new disease to mean that locking down populations as a preventative measure will do more long-term harm than good.
