 You should all be very proud of yourselves, and I personally am extraordinarily grateful to you all. My husband and I have now had both of ours. He had his in January’s first wave and it was Pfizer, while I had mine yesterday and it was the AstraZeneca. He had no problem whatsoever, but I’ve had a sore arm.  I'm a cleaner & worked through the whole pandemic over 12 hours daily. Still cleaning but have slowed down as 5 months pregnant so I won't be allowed the vaccine but I really don't mind. Most vulnerable need to be protected first & other front line staff. can you honestly say a healthy 30 yr old working in a shop should get it before someone who is 50 with a serious illness?  Paula Elvidge 'severe' asthma is a particular type of asthma. There are many of us who have daily struggles to manage our asthma but we are not considered to have severe asthma.  We would not have had to live with Covid at all if the Government had been a bit more savvy with our response (i.e. listening to the experts and public more). Closing our borders a year late, reopening schools at the height of the spread, the half price eating out in August and the complete farces over Track & Trace and PPE to name a few. Many other countries have got Covid under control, and in some places eradicated. Too much dithering and confusion is the real issue here. To all those people who have died , I hope we soon find a way to end this. I will follow the guidelines and help my neighbours when I can .  The one thing I really don’t get is how, with all the experts we have (with contradictory opinions) on something that never existed twelve months ago, we haven’t managed to get out of this ‘mess’.   I don’t feel parents have received enough support which is not really something new. I’m just worried now that next week they’ll announce that schools all open and there’s no control on testing and making sure schools don’t become transmission zones which will take us all right back into another lockdown. Can’t it? We didn’t have any screens of any of the tools we have today but that didn’t mean we stopped learning! It’s called life skills and those you don’t learn in a classroom alone!  So we all slept in front of the fireplace together. For us it was like camping no electricity, thermals, bottled water, trail mixes and sandwiches. All in all we faired okay. We spent time together and we read books and tended to our fireplace around the clock. We are all healthy so I know we are fortunate in that regard. But for us we were thankful that we still had shelter. So many people don’t and they go through this daily and every winter. It was inconvenient but there are worse things. The elderly, homeless, and sick were the real issue here. This state letting us down and the citizens about to foot the bill is the real issue.
