 I was bussed to school every year until high school, when I had to get myself there. Yeah, some of the schools were bad, but the idea was to equalize the pain and bring all the schools up. We haven't gotten there. The idea of funding schools through real estate taxes doesn't work, because poor communities get poor schools and the cycle continues. Students and funding continue to be pulled out of public schools in favor of private and church schools. Times have changed. We all have changed. This is 2019. Let’s work on the present and the future. I'm glad I was bussed and went to integrated schools in the late 70s and early 80s South. In America we throw people in jail for giving water to migrants. What an amazing woman! Its a beautiful thing seeing someone step up and go out and pick up refugees whom probably would die otherwise. Adrift in a sea on raft, fleeing ones own country from fear. No way would a woman like this try and purposefully harm police officers by running over their vessel. Considering that half the "real" meat on the market nowadays is hardly meat I really dont see a problem with this. Tricking people into eating something is a huge pet peeve of mine. Talk about taking away someone’s choices. Reduce the price or offer it for free, give everyone who tries it a balloon animal - anything but what this restaurant did. Is a hotdog really dog or a hamburger ham? No. It didn't say beef, it said meat. There was also a full list of ingredients which nobody bothered to read. Dangerous. Lots of meat free meats have nuts as a base or filler. Way to go to get a liability claim for those with allergies. Plus it's an outright lie not telling someone - as if charging for one thing and putting on something else is virtually fraud. I wouldn't patronize a place that does this. Hypothetically there could be nuts, or any other food additive that some are allergic to arbitrarily added. In this day and age of disclosing ingredients so that people with allergies are safe and feel confident to eat products this was a grossly negligent thing to do, they should prosecute the company and the company should be thankful no one had an allergic reaction to this product - the person who thought this was a good idea should be sacked. I hope the Pizza company is sued and loses their license to sell food. I am totally against bussing and I come from Detroit one of the worst school districts in the country. If a family works hard to move to a location where the schools are better it isn't right to bus the kids to a bad district. Yes, I had to go to lousy schools and received a poor education, my family could have put in the effort to get me in better schools.
